"Support to Enact a Total Ban on E-cigarettes and Other New Tobacco Products" Briefing Sessions

Prevent Youth from Smoking
“Support to Enact a Total Ban on E-cigarettes and Other New Tobacco Products” Briefing Sessions

E-cigarettes, heat-not-burn (HNB) tobacco products and other new tobacco products gain wide popularity in recent years. These products are marketed as trendy items, claiming to be healthy, no harm or less harmful. The novel packaging design and diversity of flavours attract people, especially youngsters, to use. In some countries, prevalence of e-cigarette use drastically increased in just few years. The situation is worrying.

In collaboration with public health academia and medical sectors, Hong Kong Council on Smoking on Health organized the “Support to Enact a Total Ban on E-cigarettes and Other New Tobacco Products” briefing sessions. Teachers, social workers and parents, etc are encouraged to attend. Through the presentation by the tobacco control and medical experts, participants will be able to know more about the harms of e-cigarettes and other new tobacco products. Appropriate education could then be delivered to their children and students to prevent them from using these products and smoking.
